Regardless of how you define happiness, regardless of which outcomes you wish to achieve in life, there are three keys to everything:
- Surrender to Divine Will, Your Highest Self, Your Most Fully Conscious and Enlightened Self, or whatever other label you ascribe to what I am referring to here.
- Move from partial truths to full Truth, and let go of illusion altogether.
- Begin to develop and/or further develop your capacity to use the force of your own compassion as a tool to bring more healing and goodness into your life and the life of humanity.
That's it. If you do these three things, I promise without a smidgeon of doubt that you will have everything you want in life and more. There are no disclaimers to be made here, no small print, no qualifying statements. You will have and be everything you want, and more, if you do these three things.
What Is Surrender?
Surrender is not giving up. It is not passivity. It is not weakness.
Surrender is the most courageous and powerful act a human being can perform. It is the act of choosing, consciously and deliberately, to align yourself with the highest intelligence of the universe — with the part of you that knows, with perfect clarity, what is true, what is loving, and what serves the highest good of all.
When you surrender to your Highest Self, you are not abandoning your will. You are aligning your personal will with the highest will — and in so doing, you discover that what your Highest Self wants for you is infinitely more beautiful, more abundant, and more joyful than anything your limited personal mind could ever conceive of or plan for.
The Practice of Surrender
Surrender is a moment-by-moment practice. It is not something you do once and then you are done. Every moment offers us a new choice: will I follow the whisper of my Highest Self, or will I follow the fear-based, ego-driven impulses of my wounded self?
The good news is that the more you practice surrender, the easier it becomes. And the more you surrender, the more evidence you gather that it works — that life gets better, that synchronicities multiply, that doors open seemingly out of nowhere.
This is the first key. In the next installment, we will explore the second key: Truth.
